Our Story
I started LicenseRetail after watching small business owners pay hundreds of dollars every year in QuickBooks subscription fees for software they could — and should — own outright.
The turning point came when Intuit stopped selling QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus and Premier directly to new customers in July 2024. Overnight, thousands of small businesses lost their go-to affordable option for professional desktop accounting software. They were being pushed toward cloud subscriptions that cost $1,000–$3,000 per year — whether they needed the cloud or not.
